Cochlear’s CTO, Jan Janssen, on the Nucleus® 7 expanded features in the latest TECH Talk video.
Since its release in July 2017, the Nucleus 7 Sound Processor and the Nucleus Smart App have been removing boundaries in implantable hearing solutions. The Nucleus 7 Sound Processor is the first cochlear implant sound processor compatible with Apple® devices for direct streaming. The Nucleus Smart App allows your patients to take control of their hearing settings and monitor their personal data.
With the introduction of the Nucleus 7 expanded features, Jan explains, the Nucleus Smart App is now available for Android™ users. This gives more smartphone users the ability to control their hearing preferences and access features like Hearing Tracker, “which is like a FitBit for your hearing”, and Find my Sound Processor. In addition, new features on the Nucleus Smart App include, clinician-enabled ForwardFocus*, for better hearing in noise1, and the Nearby (proximity locator) function within Find my Sound Processor.
The Nucleus 7 Sound Processor is now compatible with Nucleus 24 implants, “which means that tens of thousands of people around the world who have been implanted with the Nucleus 24 device, can enjoy the benefits of Nucleus 7…”
