Cochlear’s continued advancement of perimodiolar electrode technology facilitates the development of advanced sound coding strategies, which may lead to better patient outcomes. By placing an electrode such as the CI532 Slim Modiolar closer to the hearing nerve, professionals can utilize modiolar proximity to enhance hearing performance. 1

Janssen also highlights the importance of earlier implantation and how it may contribute to successful patient outcomes over the long term. He points out that adults and seniors often wait more than ten years after meeting cochlear implant candidacy criteria.
