TECH Talks is a peer-to-peer educational video series designed for you to hear the latest from experts in the field of implantable hearing solutions. Our full offering of TECH Talks is available on our YouTube playlist.
Unsure where to begin? Here are three TECH Talks you won’t want to miss:
Beyond Deaf: Cochlear™ Nucleus® CI532 Slim Modiolar Electrode
René Gifford, Ph.D., Professor at Vanderbilt University, summarizes her lecture featuring data that her team collected on perimodiolar electrode array advantages and the Nucleus® CI532 implant. She also reviews how electrode array options apply to today’s modern cochlear implant candidates, the importance of perimodiolar placement in scala tympani and her lab’s work on how number of channels can positively impact patient performance.
New Ways to Hear Your Way: The Cochlear™ Baha® SoundArc
Michelle Kraskin, Au.D., explains what she loves about the Baha SoundArc, a non-surgical option for children with hearing loss. In her TECH Talk, she discusses how it is a great option for pediatric patients with single-sided deafness (SSD) and microtia atresia. It’s also a viable option for older children who no longer want to wear the Softband, but are not yet appropriate for surgery*. The Baha SoundArc is more discrete than the Softband and has great retention that stays in place, even for an active child.
Announcing Nucleus® 7 Expanded Connectivity Features
Jan Janssen, Cochlear Chief Technology Officer, discusses the newly expanded connectivity features of the Nucleus 7 Sound Processor. Now with Android™ streaming and Apple® Watch connectivity options, the Nucleus 7 Sound Processor enables cochlear implant recipients to connect to the world around them with more ease and efficiency.**
