In case you missed our last blog about the Cochlear™ Baha® Fitting Software update, Cochlear would like to remind you why it is important to update your Baha Fitting Software (BFS) to the latest version, BFS 5.3. With the introduction of the new Cochlear™ Baha SoundArc, Cochlear is excited to release a new version of the BFS 5.3 software package.
Why is it important to update the BFS 5.3?
The new BFS 5.3 has the following new features:
- Allows for connection with the new Baha SoundArc, a non-surgical wearing option for your pediatric patients.
- Updated firmware for Baha 5 sound processors, which expands the Cochlear™ Baha 5 Smart App compatibility to the SAMSUNG Galaxy S8.
- Future compatibility with new or repaired Baha 5 sound processors going forward.
How do I update the BFS?
Links to register and download the new BFS 5.3 are available in the “Software Support Resource” section in myCochlear Clinic.
For further information about the BFS update, or how to upgrade your software, contact your local Cochlear Americas representative.
New orders and repairs for Baha 5 sound processors with upgraded firmware will start shipping at the end of March 2018. If your clinic does not download BFS 5.3, your current software will not be able to communicate with the new or repaired Baha 5 sound processors. In addition, your patients with SAMSUNG Galaxy S8 phones will not be able to access the Baha 5 Smart App. To alleviate this problem, we encourage you to download BFS 5.3 as soon as possible!
