Cochlear is proud to introduce the expanded features for the Cochlear™ Nucleus® 7 Sound Processor. Providing these new features to your patients means upgrading Custom Sound 5.1 software, which requires a database change. This update may require assistance from your IT department.
In order to assist you, we have a new Software Support scheduling system, which will ensure you and your IT department are served as quickly as possible. If you would like a software support session, please contact your Cochlear field staff for scheduling.
The Nucleus 7 Sound Processor revolutionized comfort and connectivity when it was introduced last year as the only Made for iPhone behind-the-ear cochlear implant sound processor. Now, we have expanded the features of the industry’s smallest and lightest1 sound processor to include Android™ compatibility through the Nucleus Smart App* which allows patients to:
- Monitor and adjust their sound processor settings
- Receive audible and visual alerts of coil-off events
- Locate a lost or misplaced sound processor using the Find My Processor feature
- Track progress with the Hearing Tracker feature
Do not forget, Android device users can stream audio to their Nucleus processor with the Cochlear Phone Clip.
In addition to the new connectivity features, the Nucleus 7 Sound Processor Expanded Features includes compatibility with Nucleus 24 Series Implants and a clinician-enabled, user-activated performance feature for improving hearing performance in noise called ForwardFocus**. Be sure to view the AudiogyOnline Training from today titled “What’s New for the Cochlear™ Nucleus® 7 System” with Janet Clarke, AuD*** for more details.
The Nucleus 7 Sound Processor is the world’s smallest and lightest1 behind-the-ear cochlear implant sound processor and now has first-of-its-kind features for users. This innovation allows Cochlear to continue to provide connectivity options for cochlear implant users.
