Encourage your patients to share their own hearing journey stories with friends and family in hopes that they will inspire someone to be proactive about their own hearing loss.
Here are a few facts you can share with them to spark these discussions:
- Approximately 20 percent of Americans, or 48 million people, report some degree of hearing loss.1
- Roughly, 2 to 3 out of every 1,000 children in the United States are born with a detectable level of hearing loss in one or both ears.1
- 360 million people worldwide have disabling hearing loss – making this is a significant global public health issue.2
